Tropico 3 1.01 Pc Game Free Download

Tropico 3 is the latest installment of a popular strategy saga that lets you take the reigns of a happy Caribbean island. The challenge: stay in power for at least 50 years! Whether you decide to be a generous leader and lead your country to prosperity, or become a ruthless dictator who only looks for personal wealth, that's your call.

The game includes a wide variety of missions and covers many different types of businesses – basically everything you need to run a city: natural resources, facilities, communications, and more. The demo also includes a tutorial that walks you through the basic functions and gameplay. You'll be able to walk around your city, build all sorts of constructions, check your popularity rankings and of course, rule the city and pass laws according to what's best for your citizens – or maybe only for yourself!

Tropico 3 doesn't really stand out for its original story or its amazing graphics, but it does have an innovative perspective as regards strategy games, which are usually set in more serious scenarios. In fact, Tropico 3 has quite a surprising humoristic point of view that makes it really fun to play. The Latin-Caribbean style soundtrack adds the final touch.

Tropico 3 is a strategy adventure that challenges you to run your own Caribbean paradise... and turn it into a Banana republic if you want to!

World War II Pc game Free download

Battleground Europe is fought on an accurate half-scale map of 1940's Western Europe. This map is dotted with a network of towns and cities.

Each town is a varied collection of facilities, but includes always at least one army base (which includes an infantry spawn point and a vehicle spawn point), one “town center,” and supply depots linking the town to adjacent towns by road, rail or water. The only exception for this is some cities located on islands that are inaccessible by road/bridges do not support vehicle spawning.

Game play at its most basic level is a matter of attacking forces spawning in and forming up then attacking a town with the object of capturing all the facilities and the army base. Defenders spawn their own vehicles, guns, and most infantry at the army base, with a limited ability to spawn infantry at the various supply depots around town.

Everything revolves around the infantryman. As the only unit that can capture anything, all of the weapons systems in the game – from long-range destroyers, to aircraft with tons of high-explosive bombs, to heavily armed and armored tanks – are ultimately only as good as their ability to deliver infantry safely to capturable facilities. There are of course many complexities involved, the greatest of which is the thousands of other human beings trying their best to prevent exactly that.

Attack of the 50ft Robot 1.01 Pc game free download

Attack of the 50ft Robot! is a free game by students at DigiPen Institute of Technology, but don't think that there's anything amateurish about it! The title is fairly self explanatory - you control a 50ft Robot, and have to attack everything!

Attack of the 50ft Robot! is presented wonderfully like an old B-movie, in black and white with a grainy picture. It's a 3rd person perspective action game, and after a short tutorial, teaching you how to use your lasers, rockets, jump and throw things, you take part in a "movie" of sorts.

There are buildings, tanks and helicopters to destroy, and the last two fight back. Some of the explosions, like the city's power station when you break it, are really impressive. As you destroy targets, more appear and the story develops. It's unfair to explain what happens but Attack of the 50ft Robot! goes from over the top to absolutely ridiculous and it's fantastic!

Attack of the 50ft Robot! can get quite chaotic at times, and some people may not like the auto-aiming lasers, but you'll forget minor problems while stomping around destroying everything you can see. Who hasn't wanted to be a 50ft Robot? Now you can!

Excellently presented Attack of the 50ft Robot! is a fantastic experience, and while it may not have much reply value, it's still a really enjoyable piece of b-movie destruction.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Pc games free download

Call of Duty has established itself as one of the greatest game series ever. With consistently improving graphics and AI, one of the only real criticisms it has faced of late was the repetitive nature of its setting. World War II is a fascinating, multi-theatre world for games to approach in many ways: but how about something different?

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the answer to that request. This game plunges you head-first into a present-day battlefield, even more fast-paced than its predecessors.

This demo offers you one mission from the full version of the game, where you play Sergeant Paul Jackson, of the US Marines. You're dispatched to save a tank which has become waylaid during its mission against a rebel leader in Saudi Arabia. Like any good demo, the mission features a range of combat situations, including the use of anti-tank weapons, the destruction of an anti-aircraft battery and at least one seriously fast-paced, confusing fire fight.

The graphics in COD4 are top notch, and we didn't notice any lag even at higher-end settings. COD4 is built on a new proprietary engine which offers much better support for up-to-the-minute lighting effects, clearly visible in this test mission. Another aspect of the new engine makes for a really interesting change to gameplay. Some forms of cover (a light wooden fence, for example), won't offer you much protection like they did in years gone by. While buildings are not destructible, many elements of the environment (like cars and, yes, light wooden fences) are easily destroyed with gunfire. Heavier weapons can cut through heavier cover too, "Shoot them through the wall!" you're ordered at one point.

All this added realism makes the general quality of gameplay really high. We noticed great improvements in AI, even on easier levels of difficulty where previous games may have left you feeling somewhat silly. In fact, COD4 was surprisingly good, especially when there had been some negative reaction to the XBOX 360 beta.

Fast paced, intense and varied: awesome graphics and involving gameplay make Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare a must-have for any self-respecting gamer.

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe Pc Game free download

Of all the superheroes, Spiderman is probably the one to earn the most box office bucks during his career. Of course, when he's not making millions for Hollywood studios he's out fighting crimes, and this latest adventure sees him team up with the unlikeliest of allies to save New York from a plague of militant aliens.

Weirdly, once you've defeated the likes of Doc Octopus, Green Lantern and Venom in this humorous caper, they become allies and co-operate with Spidey to blast the bad guys.

This hare-brained story aside, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe basically plays like your standard side-scrolling beat-em-up, in the style of Capcom classics like Final Fight. Only in this case you're able to control Spiderman, or one of his aforementioned enemies, inheriting the unique powers of each character.

Each of the fairly diverse levels charges you with the task of defeating the aliens as you traverse from one end to the other. Unfortunately these baddies don't have much in the way of artificial intellegence, but because there are so many of the critters the game is still pretty challenging.

Graphically, the game borrows more elements from the comic than it does from the film, giving it a surprisingly humorous aspect. Humorous, that is, until Spidey's incessesant wise-cracking becomes boring. That said, this is a polished adventure game that fans of the Webbed Wonder simply cannot afford to miss.

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 Pc game free download

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is an intense, visceral rally experience that updates the series by injecting a more American approach to off-road racing to the detailed realism series fans will be used to.

This demo allows you to try two events, a circuit in Baja California, and a stage event in Morocco. There is no online play in the demo. To get the most out of Colin McRae: DiRT 2 you'll need a fairly high spec PC, but if you turn down the graphics settings it's still really good fun.

The worst aspect of Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is presented as the game starts. The over the top menu system, presented in a 3D trailer that's supposed to be your home. While it looks good, it makes getting into a race much longer than necessary. Choose an event and a car, and eventually you'll be launched into a race.

Thankfully, despite the front end, the actual racing is great. Vehicles look fantastic, and damage is applied really well. The sense of speed is excellent, and the cars really feel like they're on the track. It's best played with a joypad or even a wheel - in fact while keyboard is supported it's really not much fun! The graphics are great, and the sound effects are crunchingly realistic. The demo's not too easy, either so you get some replay value for this big 1.3 gigabyte download!

Some people may not like the new in-your-face approach in Colin McRae: DiRT 2, but the driving itself is still great and whether it's realism or arcade action you're after, there's plenty to love.

Strap in and hold on for Colin McRae: DiRT 2, one of the most exciting driving games you'll find in the PC!

    Transformers: The Game Free Download

Originally launched as a toy collection, Transformers soon arrived to television as an animated series that fascinated children all over the world. Now these peculiar robots are back to fight for the Earth in a cinema near you.

This game enables you to take a more active part in the Transformers story, rather than just watching them moving on the screen. You'll be able to control Bumblebee (your only option in the demo) and make your way through the city in search of enemy robots.

The game displays very good graphics but unfortunately we cannot say the same about controls: mobility and aiming are difficult to get used to, especially when you're car-shaped. On the upside, the ability to interact with the whole scenario is really fun!

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory 2.60 Patch Pc game free download

There are few games that have as long and venerated a lineage as Wolfenstein. For many gamers, it rates as one of their first experiences of the visceral world of the first person shooter. That sense of nostalgia is not something to take lightly - first games are not unlike someone of a previous generation knowing where they were when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.

Nostalgia is a harsh mistress, however. Can Raven's latest idTech4-powered iteration provide solid action, while still pleasing the old-school fans hankering for a new PC classic?

    Console-port-tastic
Wolfenstein and PC gaming goes hand in hand like bread and butter, but this time, Wolfenstein's coming out across all the major gaming platforms. And it shows, in all the wrong ways.

If you're a gamer and upgrader worth your salt the first thing you'll do in any game is dig into the graphics options to make sure your new game is going to look as shiny as your practically nuclear-powered rig can make it. And that's going to be your first big disappointment in Wolfenstein, as there's barely any options to tweak!

You can bump graphics detail up and down between three settings in about seven variables, and the only one that really speaks to the PC's power is Anisotropic Filtering - we don't even get to play around with anti-aliasing! This would be okay if the game had some native hi-res texture packs to make up for it, but we're playing with the same files that the console-crowd will be tooling around in.

The graphics aren't the only are of the game that suffers from the port. The main interface is very much designed with a thumb-stick in mind, rather than the more elegant mouse (sorry, console fans, it's just true); it takes about three times more clicks than you'd expect to even get into a game, and when you are in-game, don't even think about quick-saving. Checkpoints and auto-saves are the order of the day, but there do seem to be a lot of them, and we've not found it too onerous relying on them. Before each big set-piece there's always a save, and the discrete nature of a lot of the encounters allows you adequate time to recover from each firefight.

Killing Nazis for fun and profit
All of that whining aside, there's a lot to like about Wolfenstein's single-player. It kicks off with a stunning CGI intro, and then drops you more or less straight into the action. You play long-time protagonist BJ Blazkowicz as he attempts to fathom the dark dealings of the SS as they in turn seek out the secrets of the mysterious power known as the Black Sun.

The plot is pretty much Raiders of the Lost Ark on crack, and with even more exploding bodies! In a lot of ways, it's pretty much bang on what you want from a Wolfenstein, though this time the focus on occult action is even heavier.

Even BJ's getting in on some occult loving thanks to the acquisition early in the game of a Thule Medallion, an artefact of a bygone age that lets him see behind the Veil and into a shadowy otherworld. This is the prime mechanic of the game, and you'll swap into Veil vision to see secret doors, enemy weakpoints, and use powers like slowing the flow of time to take advantage of slow-mo enemies.

It's a pretty neat effect, too. In the Veil, your focus on the world is sharper, and you see everything in ghostly shades of blue, while strange creatures and dark winds flow through this otherworld. Using the Veil runs down your Veil energy, as do the various powers, but there are many Veil fountains throughout each level, so running out of energy is more of a hangnail than a fatal error.

But all that fun boils simply down to one thing - killing Germans - and for all the added colour of the Veil, Wolfenstein's gameplay still seems a little one dimensional.

Part of this is the level design, which tries to make you feel like you're in a big world, but is in fact really quite linear. There's lots of ammo, more than enough veil energy to harvest, and since a lot of the action takes place in cramped areas, explosives can be very powerful.

There's the usual variety of real-world weaponry, and things get even easier when you start picking up some of the super-science weapons that the Shock Troopers carry. To be honest, most of our deaths were from our own grenades, which seem to have an annoying knack of finding things to bounce off then land back at our feet.

It all adds up to a singleplayer experience that is fun enough, but only just. Surely multiplayer will be our savior?!

    War is a team effort
In some ways Wolfenstein's multiplayer is a serious step backwards. Its graphics are, well, lacklustre at best (it's the same engine, but tweaked for performance rather than quality), and why anyone, let alone a dev like Raven, would bring out a game with 12 player cap in this day and age is beyond me. On the other hand, there are some hints of innovation, or at least paying attention to what a good online game should be, that it'll likely draw you back more than the adequate singleplayer campaign.

Multiplayer revolves around class-based gameplay (Soldier, Medic and Engineer), in three modes (Team Deathmatch, Stopwatch and Objective). There's fun to be had, but you can't help but feel that few more players, or some better animations or textures, would really lift the experience. The ability to buy yourself persistent upgrades between matches is good, but not quite enough to pull Wolfenstein over the line online.

Raven seems to agree, too, as a zero-day patch updated a lot of early issues; the dev studio that made the multiplayer component was laid off at much the same time, too. Yipes.

But, we can't really blame them. Wolfenstein has promised so much, and just not quite delivered. It's fun, but it could have been so much more.

War of Titans Pc game free download

War of Titans is an multiplayer online role playing game based around gladiators. Create a Gladiator of your own, and guide them through battles, gaining experience and money to improve your strength, endurance, and of course arm yourself to the teeth!

The reality of War of Titans is a bit more mundane. When you begin, you choose a caste of Gladiator, which will affect how you fight a little during the game. There's a world map you can move around, completing quests to gain experience and 'level up'. Every city has an arena where you can visit th marketplace to spend your gold, and of course to take part in battles.

War of Titans' arena battles are probably the weakest part of the game. You point and click to move your Gladiator, and hit CTRL to attack. The other players in the arena can be attacked when you like, but because everyone walks (there is no running!) you can have bizarre relaxed chases, where all you can do is try to cut off your opponent before they run out of the arena!

The worst thing is that death is guaranteed. As you will always get damaged during fights, you can only reasonably fight gladiators more damaged than you or you will lose. Due to this, users with more damaged Gladiators don't want to get into fights they'll lose! It's not exciting, and feels more like a slog solely to gain experience. On the upside, it's easy and requires no skill, so it's perfect for gaming beginners.

The action part of War of Titans is too simple, but for online RPG fans, this is free and easy to get into - just don't expect an immersive experience.
